Areas of Clinical Focus

Relationship & Couples Counselling

Nicole supports couples and individuals navigating communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, intimacy concerns, attachment wounds, conflict cycles, separation, and relationship transitions. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches, she helps clients strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and build healthier, more secure relationships.

Trauma, Grief & Emotional Regulation

Nicole works with individuals experiencing the effects of trauma, chronic stress, grief and loss, heartbreak, emotional overwhelm, and significant life transitions. Her compassionate and trauma-informed approach supports clients in developing emotional regulation skills, increasing self-awareness, and rebuilding a stronger sense of safety, resilience, and connection.

ADHD Support & Family Dynamics

Nicole is especially passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families impacted by ADHD, executive functioning challenges, emotional dysregulation, and relational stress. She also works with parents, step-parents, and blended families navigating co-parenting challenges, family transitions, and evolving relationship dynamics with children and adolescents.

LENS Neurofeedback & Nervous System Support

As part of the integrative services offered at Gentle Currents Therapy, Nicole incorporates LENS Neurofeedback into her practice to support nervous system regulation, emotional balance, improved focus, stress reduction, and overall mental wellness. As a Certified LENS Neurofeedback Technician, she utilizes this gentle, non-invasive technology to support communication with the central nervous system, helping clients improve regulation, resilience, and overall emotional wellbeing.

Nicole’s integrative approach combines psychotherapy and neurofeedback to help clients better understand the connection between the brain, body, emotions, relationships, and stress responses while creating meaningful and sustainable change. Working within the trauma-informed and neuroscience-focused clinical framework developed by Dr. Michael Dadson, Nicole provides collaborative, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, executive functioning difficulties, trauma-related nervous system dysregulation, and emotional overwhelm

Nicole is committed to creating an inclusive, affirming, and culturally sensitive counselling environment where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. She welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and identities, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and works collaboratively with clients to foster emotional healing, self-understanding, healthier coping strategies, and more fulfilling relationships.

Her additional training includes Childhood Complex Trauma, Neurofeedback, End Abuse Women’s Support, Parenting After Separation, Divorce Care, and Fraser Health Early Childhood Development programs.
