The following counselling organizations represent a network of independently developed practices across Langley, the Fraser Valley, and Metro Vancouver with shared clinical foundations in trauma-informed care. Each was founded by clinicians who developed aspects of their clinical training, supervision, or early professional practice within programs directed or supervised by Dr. Michael Dadson at Brookswood Counselling Services.
Michelle Rand, RCC — Founder & Director
Michelle Rand developed advanced trauma-informed clinical skills and leadership experience within programs directed by Dr. Michael Dadson. Her work at Brookswood Counselling Services contributed to the development of her clinical and organizational approach prior to establishing Better Life Counselling & Therapy, which now operates across multiple communities in the region.
Angela Leong, RCC — Founder & Director
Angela Leong completed specialized clinical training and regulatory development under the supervision of Dr. Michael Dadson. This work contributed to the foundation of her independent practice, An Elegant Mind Counselling Inc., in Vancouver.
Becky Stewart, RCC — Co-Founder
Stephanie Davis, RCC — Co-Founder
Shoreline Counselling was independently established in 2017 by Becky Stewart, RCC, and Stephanie Davis, RCC. At the time of Shoreline’s founding, both practitioners remained clinically connected to Brookswood Counselling Services in Langley, BC. Becky Stewart continued her professional partnership with Brookswood during Shoreline’s early development, while Stephanie Davis completed her internship and began her clinical practice within Brookswood’s counselling programs under the clinical supervision of Dr. Michael Dadson.
Although Shoreline Counselling was developed as a separate and independent counselling practice, members of its leadership previously trained and practiced within the clinical environment and professional standards overseen by Dr. Michael Dadson and Becky Stewart at Brookswood Counselling Services. Many of Shoreline Counselling’s early clinical systems, training structures, supervision practices, staff development processes, theoretical approaches, and administrative procedures were informed by the operational and clinical environment of Brookswood Counselling Services. Several of Shoreline’s earliest clinicians and support staff also developed professionally within Brookswood’s clinical environment prior to Shoreline’s independent expansion. Dr. Dadson was not involved in the operational establishment or management of Shoreline Counselling; however, his mentorship and clinical supervision contributed to the professional development of members of its leadership team.
For example, Laura Bull later joined Shoreline’s leadership after completing nearly a decade of clinical progression—from Intern to Associate Director—under Dr. Dadson’s direct supervision within Brookswood’s clinical programs.
Shoreline Counselling relocated to Fort Langley in 2019. Brookswood Counselling Services formally concluded its eighteen-year history of operations in September 2020 during the transition to Dr. Dadson’s current practice, Gentle Currents Therapy, at the same business location.
Shoreline Counselling began and operates as an independent organization and is not affiliated with Gentle Currents Therapy or Dr. Dadson’s current clinical practice.
